Hail!
Hey guys, howzit going? well, July is being pretty much a bitch to me when it comes to doing artsy stuff, or studies because I don't really have the time for it. Maybe I'm still in vacations mood, or maybe it's the fucking heat here in Portugal (can you believe we reached it in about 45 º Celsius?!). Also, my favourite person in the world is on vacations here in Portugal for one month and maybe I just want to spend time with him:
How can I resist this sweet little thing?!
Meanwhile, I'll try to make some studies in my rare free time I have so this is what I have done so far:
yeaaaah... last week was the landscapes week... I REALLY REALLY REEEEEALLY suck at this. And of course there's nothing better than to grab the bull by its horns and work hard that way, no? Each speedy was in about 2-3 hours or so, I learned a lot with this altough I wish I could do at least 3 a day with less time, but hey, pratice makes perfect, maybe I need to work out my patience too...
And this is an ambitious study of me doing 100 random faces... As you can see I'm already half way!!!!!!11!!!... no. I reaaally don't have the time to only draw right now... I wish I did... maybe August will be for real. Supposedly I should do a speedy, each of them 15 minutes max. but I discovered i'm not that good enough to shape basic forms. But that's what the 100 faces studies are for. To let go of the useless details and focus on basic forms and values. The first one was an attempt to make it on 15 minutes, and I was feeling pressured with the time. But then on the third I really didn't care anymore and I just went out with the flow, and it took me 1 hour to make it. Maybe I'll just take the time I need and by the time I reach nearly 50 maybe I'll be godspeed like. Maybe, maybe... Of course I won't make the friggin 100 faces in one day, it will be incorporated on my daily task of study. Maybe will be like a snack before sleep. Just to keep me in the game.
Although I haven't been so productive digitally, there's always time to draw on my sketchbook. At least that...
One of the best places to draw, alright.
I'll update my sketchbook next time.
Oh, I have another valuable excuse for not working that much though:
I had a hot date with Mike Patton in Super Bock Super rock. My dear Lord, I was right in front, and it was the closest I could get. I love him so much ! *-fangirl- squeeek* Tomahawk killed that night. Although they weren't headlining the festival, they dominated. One thing I felt pity for is the fact they weren't meant for that festival. Sadly. There were so many kids there, that I almost felt that I made a mistake and landed on some One Direction/Bieber concert. Even Mike mocked them. Hah. Thank God the first ones to play were the Band Black Rebel Motocycle Club before Tomahawk. Great Band. And so, when Tomahawk did their mindblowing, super yet very short performance, I left the festival. There was nothing left to see. Oh yeah, I forgot. Kaiser Chiefs and The Killers, the bands headlining the Festival. Who cares. Meh.
Hah all pimped out for the festival. I made that shirt with the first Speed Painting of a screen capture of Mike Patton which happens to be from the live Tomahawk video of the song God Hates a Coward. A smoking hot chick was kindly enough to wear that shirt and pose for me.
That will be all, folks.
