Beef Wellington

Hello there,

I've started my treatment for my left arm. It seems I got tendonitis on my shoulder, and now I'm slowly recovering it. I've made some studies, I had to take a break from major illustrations I had in mind... So I didn't do much since my last post but here goes:

traditional:

photo reference:

Screen capture from movies:

\
I just loved the Dark Knight trilogy, that's why.Not finished obviously.

I loved "man of Steel". Personally I think its the best Superman movie ever made, I've seen every Superman movie and this is by far, the best.

My favorite movie. "The Pianist ", and my most cherished scene.  I cried like a bitch because I'm a pussy that's why. And now I miss playing piano....I miss terribly... sigh.

each one took near 2 hours to execute.

selfies on the mirror:

Yeah I look always bored. In fact, I'm a boring person. the first went well, but the second I was fed up staring myself on the mirror for so long and my arm was in agony, so I pretty much rushed it. lol

and something something:

first one was with photo reference, a self-portrait from my own photo... I know I can't get enough of myself. the last one it's some doodle, free drawing and stuff.

that's all folks!

Caesar Salad

Howdy,

I busted my arm. It hurts... What if I won't be able to grab a pencil anymore? what if I stay like this forever...? I think I'm going to start crying.

Ok, I need to take a break more often, and I have to go to a doctor. Sigh, I hate hospitals.

What I've been doing lately:

Speedies with photo ref:

I've started again the 100 faces late snack:

the progress of a speedpainting:

I've entered on a study group, the daily art poop ( http://dailyartpoop.blogspot.pt/) We do daily speedpaintings everyday in 30 minutes via Skype, the theme is always different. Its very good to pratice.

I started to record my progress. I still don't do tutorials, because I don't think if I am capable of, yet. But of course, maybe you can learn some stuff, and if you do... great! I've done a small illustration to test my camtasia:

Here's my first video:

And finally, the contest I've told you on the last post. I've already finished. I won't win, there's so great entries out there, they blew me out of the water, completely. But that's ok, as long I update my official portfolio... I'm very happy, that finally I've made some new fresh update on my portfolio.

Tortellini à la Zucca

Hey guys,

sorry for the last post I did. I think I'll save that personal stuff for my DeviantART account.

Didn't do that much this week, but now, I'm back again and I have to do this as my regular daily basis:

I did this last night, I couldn't sleep at all, and I thought a speedpainting should do the trick, by getting sleepy. Because we all know that work can get us sleepy, but at the end I remembered that I never considered this as "WORK", much on the contrary, I found it so pleasing and of course my plans of getting sleepy didn't work.

I'm participating on CHOW ( Character of the Week on ConceptART.org ). I'm planning to do the far right, the preggy lady.

A commission I did on the left. And from the right some sillyness, a self-portrait of moi.

Stay tuned for moar.

Niçoise Salad

Hail!

Hey guys, howzit going? well, July is being pretty much a bitch to me when it comes to doing artsy stuff, or studies because I don't really have the time for it. Maybe I'm still in vacations mood, or maybe it's the fucking heat here in Portugal (can you believe we reached it in about 45 º Celsius?!). Also, my favourite person in the world is on vacations here in Portugal for one month and maybe I just want to spend time with him:

How can I resist this sweet little thing?!

Meanwhile, I'll try to make some studies in my rare free time I have so this is what I have done so far:

yeaaaah... last week was the landscapes week... I REALLY REALLY REEEEEALLY suck at this. And of course there's nothing better than to grab the bull by its horns and work hard that way, no? Each speedy was in about 2-3 hours or so, I learned a lot with this altough I wish I could do at least 3 a day with less time, but hey, pratice makes perfect, maybe I need to work out my patience too...

And this is an ambitious study of me doing 100 random faces... As you can see I'm already half way!!!!!!11!!!... no. I reaaally don't have the time to only draw right now... I wish I did... maybe August will be for real. Supposedly I should do a speedy, each of them 15 minutes max. but I discovered i'm not that good enough to shape basic forms. But that's what the 100 faces studies are for. To let go of the useless details and focus on basic forms and values. The first one was an attempt to make it on 15 minutes, and I was feeling pressured with the time. But then on the third I really didn't care anymore and I just went out with the flow, and it took me 1 hour to make it. Maybe I'll just take the time I need and by the time I reach nearly 50 maybe I'll be godspeed like. Maybe, maybe... Of course I won't make the friggin 100 faces in one day, it will be incorporated on my daily task of study. Maybe will be like a snack before sleep. Just to keep me in the game.

Although I haven't been so productive digitally,  there's always time to draw on my sketchbook. At least that...

One of the best places to draw, alright.

I'll update my sketchbook next time.
Oh, I have another valuable excuse for not working that much though:

I had a hot date with Mike Patton in Super Bock Super rock. My dear Lord, I was right in front, and it was the closest I could get. I love him so much ! *-fangirl- squeeek* Tomahawk killed that night. Although they weren't  headlining the festival, they dominated. One thing I felt pity for is the fact they weren't meant for that festival. Sadly. There were so many kids there, that I almost felt that I made a mistake and landed on some One Direction/Bieber concert. Even Mike mocked them. Hah. Thank God the first ones to play were the Band Black Rebel Motocycle Club before Tomahawk. Great Band. And so, when Tomahawk did their mindblowing, super yet very short performance, I left the festival. There was nothing left to see. Oh yeah, I forgot. Kaiser Chiefs and The Killers, the bands headlining the Festival. Who cares. Meh.

Hah all pimped out for the festival. I made that shirt with the first Speed Painting of a screen capture of  Mike Patton which happens to be from the live Tomahawk video of the song God Hates a Coward. A smoking hot chick was kindly enough to wear that shirt and pose for me.

That will be all, folks.

Carne de Porco á Alentejana

Holla!

Hah, don't get used to it, I won't post that frequently. I just finished the 7 speedpaintings of the week.
Since I didn't do anything digital in Norway I thought about a warm up by making a speed painting a day. So from now on, I'll start with some other studies, such as anatomy, values, colour from traditional to digital. Of course at first it was a rough start so I took longer, my maximum was 4 hours of "speed", but the last one I kinda got the hang of it and I painted it in less than an hour. So here it goes, in order of execution:

1. Still Life: took at least 4 hours.

 2. Sharp (?) Object: was a bitch to paint. 4 hours too.

 3. Photo reference: from my favourite model. took 3 hours.

4. Landscape: Crap. Bad choice of photo reference. 2 hours or so.

5. video screenshot: from Faith no more with the video on pause... Got a little carried away :D~~ 3.5 hours.

6. Object from photo : My eletric guitar looks exactly like this. 3 hours. From reference

7. Animals: My Cat Funny. The fastest I did. Less than an hour yay!

That's it. stay tuned for moar.

kiss kiss bye bye.

p.s- Alentejana Style Pork, for those who wondered wtf I wrote on my title.
